1.What products and materials does the commercial roofing contractor use and how long have they worked with them?
Consider how long the contractor has been installing the product and the quality of the material. Technique Roofing Systems has been installing Duro-Last commercial roofing systems for 26 years. We know the ins-and-outs of the product and our experienced installers are quality driven. We are a Duro-Last Platinum contractor, which means we have a 95% or higher installation quality rating on all our roofs.
“What I really think is important is not that we’re a Duro-Last commercial roofing contractor, there are other good roofing systems out there. What it really comes down to is the plan and the organization of how they installed those roofs and the people that installed it. Our installers work with Duro-Last every day.”

2. Are they trustworthy?
When you buy a commercial roofing system, you’re not just buying a product – you’re purchasing a service. Ask yourself:
- Does the company return your calls?
- Do they show up on time?
- Are they providing you with a plan you can understand so that you know what you are buying?
- Do they have policies and procedures in place if something goes wrong?
When you buy a roofing system your relationship with the contractor does not end when the job is done. You want to ensure you can trust them for more than 15 years. Therefore, the most critical question to ask: Is this company going to deliver on their promises 5, 10 or 20 years from now?
Choose a company you feel confident staying with. Bouncing around between different contractors is a lot like gambling. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Technique Roofing is a family owned and operated company, and will continue to be for generations. We are committed to being there for you.
“When you’re thinking about the longevity of it you really want to work with somebody that you believe one – is going to do the job right, two- that I trust, and three – that I think is going to be here 20 years from now. Is that company built to be here 20 years from now?

3. Have other businesses used them? Ask around.
Most likely other businesses have used commercial roofing contractors in the past that they have had good and bad experiences with. If you own a building, you most likely know other people that own a building, and if you’ve never had to get a new roof or roof repair done, you’re going to talk to them before hiring a contractor to find out their experiences. We do it in our day-to-day lives with vehicles, household products, and services.
At Technique Roofing, we have found that a lot of our customers come from referrals, which is our validation that our customers trust us. Don’t be afraid to ask around! Then check out the company website to verify them.
“You find out who you can trust through the people that you trust.”
